The fourth day of international cycling race Tour of Croatia was scheduled for 171 km long route connecting the cities of Starigrad (Paklenica) and Crikvenica.
The 4th-day route represents one of Croatia’s most scenic sea-side drives and makes a great opportunity for the organizers to share Croatia’s beauties with the whole world.
The route is said to be favourable to sprinters, so it was expected that one of the skilled sprinters will take the victory. Todays the lucky winner was Alessandro Tonelli (Bardiani-CSF) who, according to Cyclingtips, grabbed his first pro win coasting in 12 seconds ahead of fellow Italian Enrico Barbin (Bardiani CSF), Slovenia’s Jan Tratnik (CCC Sprandi Polkowice) and the rest of the main peloton.
Congratulations to Alessandro for a well-deserved victory!
